"Koza Han" in Bursa, Turkey.

Here was the main producers and shops of Silk in Ottoman Turkey; the market is still lined with silk merchants today.

Silk worms cacoons were stolen from China by a Byzantine ambassador in 7th century. And Bursa area was selected by the Byzantines for this new economy to grow. When the town was taken by Ottoman Turks, silk industry passed into their hands.

The photo shows the interior of the market, now used by cafes.
